Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell was an actress on television, ex-chef at the Institute of Culinary Education and formerly teaches cooking. She hosts The Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, with her famous spiky blonde hair and an energised persona on Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Cook series, provides an easy and straightforward cooking techniques that are suitable for the home cook. Chef Burrell has worked and studied in some of the most prestigious New York restaurants. He also battled Iron Chef America and the cuisine of Italy. Growing up in the Upstate region of New York Chef Burrell was infatuated by food. Her passion was for working in the restaurant business by enrolment in The Culinary Institute of America following the completion of a bachelor's degree in English and Communications from Canisius College, Buffalo NY. I enjoyed every moment during my time in The Culinary Institute of America she declares. I was unable to learn enough, didn't achieve enough and couldn't push myself enough. After graduation, Burrell spent one year in Italy studying at the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners and working in Umbria's La Taverna del Lupo as and Tuscany's La Bottega del 30, a Michelin-starred restaurant. It was during this time that her experience in Italy has helped her understand and appreciate the Italian philosophy and culture, and has made an impact on her own perception of food. Burrell was a Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board member, which aims to enhance the lives of children who face obstacles. Burrell also serves as an Juvenile Disease Research Foundation's celebrity ambassador, and is a vocal advocate for awareness of the dangers of childhood diabetes. Burrell is often a guest to speak at conferences and tours the country in her mentorship job. Anne always felt fortunate that she could share the passion that she had for and her passion for cooking, with people around the world.
